Whisper

A villanelle (also known as villanesque) is a nineteen-line poetic form consisting of five tercets followed by a quatrain. There are two refrains and two repeating rhymes, with the first and third line of the first tercet repeated alternately until the last stanza, which includes both repeated lines.

Whisper your stories in the dead of the night
-my love, for the dawn, is at the door
my darling, and I will be gone at the daylight

Write your eccentric desires, make them bright
-red in my blood, make me feel like never before
Whisper your stories in the dead of the night

Run your nails on the skin, how so bright
– your eyes, drunk on the liquor
Sparkling like the daylight

Rest firm your hand on my chest, watch my heart in flight
– into space, it is but a meteor
It flies through the night

This love burns as it makes a blinding sight
Let’s drown and touch the seafloor
– one last time before we fly in the daylight

I’ll watch your movement in delight
-as you race to leave me sore
Whisper your stories in the dead of the night
my darling, for I will be gone at the daylight
