They say

They say I am very talkative

For they haven’t seen my quiet

It’s not serene, it’s dark

It’s the calm before the storm

So I keep talking

They say I am always happy

For they haven’t seen my crying spells

My tears have formed a ocean

That flows down my face

For when the lights go out

And when the lights are on again

I laugh

They say I am strong

For they haven’t seen me break down

Like butterfly wings held with firm hands

Lying on the cold floor

Waiting for it’s life to end

And I always get back on my feet

With whatever strength I can gather

And I appear strong

And that’s why they don’t see me

When the lights go out

And I am quiet

Tears march down

And I quietly break apart

Like stardust
